Saltburn Solidarity

About us

Saltburn Solidarity CIO is a grassroots charity formed by local residents in Saltburn‑by‑the‑Sea, focused on supporting individuals and families facing financial struggles with compassion and dignity.

Operating out of a former doctor’s surgery at 2 Windsor Road, the organisation offers essential support to anyone in the town, providing emergency food parcels and basic household items without referral or voucher requirements.

Beyond providing food parcels, the organisation aims to develop its presence in the community by acquiring a dedicated premises through fundraising efforts, which would allow them to expand reach and offer additional services, such as a space for a chat, drink, and signposting to other local help.

Much of their operational funding comes from local donations and revenue generated through their second-hand shop, the Boho Room, which contributes to their mission alongside collective food donations.

Saltburn Solidarity’s foundation lies in neighbour-to-neighbour support and a belief in community resilience.

With a committed volunteer base and growing local backing they stand as a powerful example of grassroots empowerment.

They aim to ensure that no one in Saltburn faces food insecurity or isolation alone, and their future development reflects a desire to build a permanent, inclusive hub for ongoing community support and connection.
