The Link Charitable Trust

About us

The Link Charitable Trust provides vital crisis support to people across Redcar and Cleveland who are struggling with their mental health or wellbeing.

The charity offers a safe, non-judgemental environment where individuals can access immediate support in times of emotional distress, without the need for a referral.

This service is especially important for those who may feel isolated, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to turn.

At the heart of this support is The Living Room, a calm and welcoming drop-in space designed to help people manage moments of crisis.

Staffed by trained mental health and well-being professionals, it offers one-to-one listening, practical coping strategies, and a quiet place to feel heard.

The space is open to anyone aged 16 and over who is in need of support, and sessions are free to access.

The Living Room is not a clinical setting but a friendly, informal space where people can speak openly about what they’re going through.

Whether someone is facing anxiety, low mood, or simply needs a place to feel safe and grounded, the service provides an important first step towards recovery and stability.

It aims to prevent escalation of crisis and reduce pressure on emergency services.

This crisis support forms part of The Link’s wider commitment to improving mental health and emotional well-being in the local community.

Through a compassionate, person-centred approach, the charity helps individuals regain a sense of control, feel connected, and begin building a more positive future.
