Tees Valley Women’s Centre

About Us

Tees Valley Women’s Centre is a long-standing community organisation based in South Bank, established in 1991.

It exists to support women across the Tees Valley region by offering a safe, welcoming, women-only space where individuals can access advice, support, education, and opportunities for personal development.

The centre is committed to improving the wellbeing, confidence, and independence of women from all walks of life.

The centre provides a wide range of practical and emotional support services.

These include advice on benefits, housing, debt, and employment, as well as access to counselling, wellbeing activities, and a monthly legal advice clinic.

Importantly, all services are tailored to meet the needs of women in a secure and respectful environment.

Education and training play a central role in the centre’s work.

Free and low-cost courses are regularly offered in areas such as maths, English, digital skills, crafts, and personal finance.

These sessions not only help women build new skills but also open up further education or employment opportunities.

In addition to structured learning, the centre provides informal support and a place to meet others in similar circumstances.

As a vital resource in the community, the centre continues to adapt to meet growing and changing needs.

Whether someone is looking to return to work, develop new skills, access emotional support, or simply find a safe place to connect with others, Tees Valley Women’s Centre offers a supportive and inclusive environment dedicated to women’s empowerment.
