About us
Lighthouse Navigation NE Ltd is a Christian-based Community Interest Company founded in 2021, serving adults across Redcar and the North East.
The organisation exists to support individuals experiencing life challenges such as isolation, mental health struggles, or financial hardship.
As a not-for-profit, any surplus income is reinvested into providing free education, wellbeing support, and community development programmes.
Education and skill-based courses form a core part of their work.
Open to adults aged 16 and over, Lighthouse offers free learning opportunities in areas such as budgeting, cookery, maths, English, vocational and creative crafts.
The aim is to build confidence, improve employability, and help people take practical steps towards self-sufficiency and further opportunities.
Mental health and emotional wellbeing support are also central to their offer.
Through one-to-one listening, counselling, mindfulness, arts, gardening and peer-led sessions, Lighthouse Navigation encourages resilience, emotional recovery, and community connection.
These services provide informal yet impactful routes to support, in a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
In addition, Lighthouse Navigation runs a seed‑to‑table scheme, where participants engage in gardening, growing produce from seed, and preparing simple meals using the harvest.
This hands-on project merges practical skills with communal wellbeing—providing education on food growing and nutrition, whilst strengthening social bonds through shared activities and shared meals.
