Footprints in the Community runs foodbanks and other vital services in Redcar, supporting people facing poverty, hardship, and social isolation.
The Redcar Area Foodbank runs a session at Newcomen Methodist Church in Redcar. It gives out emergency food to people in Redcar who cannot afford the essentials.
It is part of the Trussell network. You need a voucher to use it. Local services give out the vouchers, such as Citizens Advice, a GP, a housing officer or a social worker.
With a voucher, you get a three-day food parcel. Volunteers make you welcome. They can also point you to more help, like advice on money, budgeting or mental health.
Local volunteers run the foodbank, and donations pay for the food. Everyone is treated with dignity, and no one is judged for asking.
