Footprints in the Community runs foodbanks and other vital services in Redcar, supporting people facing poverty, hardship, and social isolation.
The Redcar Area Foodbank runs a session at Brotton Methodist Community Church. It gives out emergency food to people in Brotton and nearby who are struggling with money.
It is part of the Trussell network. You need a voucher to use it. Local services give out the vouchers, such as Citizens Advice, a GP, a housing officer or a social worker.
With a voucher, you get a three-day food parcel. Volunteers make you welcome. They can also point you to more help, like advice on money, housing or mental health.
Local volunteers run the foodbank, and donations pay for the food. For many people, it is a first step to a more settled future.
