Footprints in the Community runs foodbanks and other vital services in Redcar, supporting people facing poverty, hardship, and social isolation.
The Redcar Area Foodbank runs a session at All Saints Church in Dormanstown. It gives emergency food to people and families who are finding it hard to cope.
This foodbank is part of the Trussell network. It works by referral. Local services such as Citizens Advice, GPs, housing providers and social workers give a voucher to people in crisis.
With a voucher, you can collect a three-day food parcel. The parcel holds a balanced mix of food. It helps when money is tight and you must choose between food, heating or rent.
Everyone is welcome. Volunteers treat visitors with respect and kindness, and keep things private. They also listen, and point you to other services that can help for longer.
People come here for many reasons, such as a benefit delay, losing a job, or a sudden crisis. No one should feel ashamed to ask for help.
The foodbank is run by local volunteers and paid for by community donations. As more people need help, the team is still here, with food today and support for the future.
